Dear Shaheen Users,
Please see the reminder about planned Shaheen maintenance next week.
We would like to inform you of an upcoming planned maintenance session for Shaheen, scheduled to begin at 08:00 on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and expected to conclude by the end of Monday, December 8, 2025.
This maintenance window is required to support ongoing system improvements and infrastructure updates. During this outage, we are planning to upgrade the programming environment to the latest version. Access to the login nodes and user files will be maintained throughout the maintenance period. More detailed information about the changes will be shared closer to the date.
Also, please note that KAUST IT will be working on the license servers, which will affect some licensed applications on Shaheen (i.e. Matlab, Ansys, Material Studio).
When: Thursday, 4 December at 8:00 PM to Friday, 5 December at 4:00 AM
Impact: No access to licensed applications during this time
Please do not open or use any licensed applications during the maintenance window.
If already in use, please save your work and close the application before 8:00 PM on Thursday.
Please ensure you plan your jobs accordingly. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this essential maintenance period.
